NAIOP Utah Charity Partner

“Our partnership with the Utah Mental Health Institute stems from a desire to address and enhance the mental health of our own youth/teens. Everyone has a connection to a teen or youth, and a care and concern for their wellbeing,” England stated. “This partnership presents an opportunity to address mental health issues within our community. We are all affected in one way or another to individuals who are struggling, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that improve the overall well-being of not only our members but the broader public.”

About Huntsman Mental Health Foundation

The Huntsman Mental Health Foundation (HMHF) supports the community in Utah through the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) and its mission to transform mental health care through community, research, clinical, and education initiatives.

When you donate to the HMHF, you’re helping in many ways, including support for those with substance use disorders. Here’s what your donations help us achieve:

Research and Innovation

Innovation is key to improving mental health and substance use care. To accelerate innovation, we’re raising funds to build the Utah Mental Health Translational Research Building, where researchers, educators, scientists, clinicians, students, and community members work together to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in mental health. Your support fuels cutting-edge research and new treatment options, helping us find better ways to prevent and treat these issues.

Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Support

We know that substance use disorders often go hand-in-hand with mental health issues. Your donations help us provide care and support for individuals and families dealing with both. We offer resources, rehab programs, and guidance for recovery. In 2025, the Kem and Carolyn Gardner Crisis Care Center will offer community services, training, and crisis care, including a clinic for those with opiate use disorders.

Community Empowerment

We are committed to helping communities. With your support, we assist individuals and families dealing with a spectrum of mental health and substance use challenges. And through programs like 988, SafeUT, and our Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams, HMHI provides free, immediate help to anyone in Utah experiencing a crisis. Your contributions help us reach more people, offer support groups, and provide resources that promote healing and resilience.
